Finland has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years now. Some of my fondest memories come from time spent with my family at a summer house by a lake in the middle of the country. These cottages or "mökki" are at the centre of the Finnish Summer experience and represent a totally uncorrupted place where you can witness firsthand, the Finnish love for a local material combined with a skilful yet pragmatic craft.

Observing this environment first hand I became inspired and started to consider ways that the qualities found in Finnish summer cottage furniture could be referenced within a new furniture design for a modern Finnish family. This, currently un-named project is the result.
